Inmates & Juveniles

“When hard pressed, I cried to the Lord, He brought me into the spacious place.”

No one is born as a criminal. Circumstances, needs or misleading surroundings lead people of various ages into situations that make them end up in prisons and juvenile centers. One incident or wrong decision should not be defining the whole life of a person.

They are already living burdened with guilt, self-condemnation, rejection, loneliness, regrets and hopelessness, not to forget underlying trauma, abuse or struggles they might have had early in their lives. They are still humans like you and me. They are still the humans with hearts and desires to have another chance to good life, happy family and other dreams they have.

I recall how in my tenure working abroad exposed me to ..support being provided for inmates inside cells and outside on parole to find work and settle down. I even was part of employing people on parole and communicating with prison head as per protocol.

Not only that, prisoners were guided to repent and turn their lives around by reaching out with books, need based toiletries, education material, lap tops etc. and offer prayers, and building hope by encouraging with faith based guidance. I wonder how would our prisons be looking like with such a reform and support?

As they are serving their time in prisons and juvenile centers, Vo1ce Of The One Calling Foundation aims to bring hope and change to their situations by offering second chances to them. We aim to reach out with mental health care, character, self-esteem and value building and empowerment programs. We aim to help them restart life clean in society.
